Belarus not planning to export grain - Lukashenko

MINSK. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Belarus is not planning to export any of its grain crops, President Alexander Lukashenko said during a working trip to the Myadel district on Tuesday.

"For the time being, I don't see how we could sell grain," the presidential press service quoted Lukashenko as saying.

Belarus should focus on using grain to produce high-value products, such as modern fodder, which the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation is doing now, or use it in the animal husbandry sector to produce dairy and meat products, which is more profitable, Lukashenko said.

"What counts most is value added everywhere," he said.

Lukashenko also insisted on creating new jobs in the processing sector and attaching primary importance to people's wages and social benefits.
