Russia sees 11,422 new Covid-19 cases, 39 related deaths in past day - HQ
MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 11,422 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, while more than 1,700 people diagnosed with coronavirus have been hospitalized and 39 have died, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.
"As of July 29, Russia identified 11,422 new cases of Covid-19. The number of daily hospitalizations stood at 1,723 people, having increased by 15.6% compared to the previous day," the headquarters said.
The number of coronavirus-related hospitalizations grew in 47, decreased in 31, and remained the same in seven Russia's constituent territories, it said.
The headquarters reported 39 Covid-related fatalities over the past day, and 41 on Thursday.
Compared to the previous day, when Russia saw 11,515 Covid-19 cases, the number of new infections has edged down, but remains at the levels seen in mid-April, when about 11,500 new cases were confirmed every day.
"As many as 4,670 people have recovered over the past 24 hours, a 6.9% decline from the July 28 figures," it said.
Russia has recorded a total of 18,576,973 cases of Covid-19, 382,352 related deaths, and 17,963,133 recoveries since the onset of the pandemic.
