Gas supplies to Turkey from Shah Deniz to be suspended in Aug due to maintenance of South Caucasus Pipeline

BAKU. July 25 (Interfax) - Supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey through the South Caucasus Pipeline will be suspended for two weeks in August due to maintenance work on the pipeline.

"Due to planned maintenance and repair work on the Shah Deniz - Turkey pipeline [South Caucasus Pipeline], which should be carried out between August 14 and August 28, the supply of natural gas from the Turkgozu entry point into the national gas distribution network in Turkey will not be possible for a period of 14 days," Turkey's BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation said.

"No problems with the balance of supply and demand in the national gas distribution network are foreseen" during the planned work, BOTAS said.

The South Caucasus Pipeline is a component of the Southern Gas Corridor that transports Azerbaijani gas from the Shah Deniz field to Georgia and Turkey.

The pipeline's shareholders are BP with 29.99%, Lukoil with 19.99%, TPAO with 19%, Niko with 10%, State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic with 14.35%, and Azerbaijan's Southern Gas Corridor at 6.67%.
