Russia sees 6,571 new Covid-19 cases, 34 related deaths over past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 6,571 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, which is nearly 1,000 fewer than on Sunday, while 759 people diagnosed with coronavirus have been hospitalized and 34 have died, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"As of July 25, Russia has identified 6,571 new cases of Covid-19. The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 759 people, having increased by 0.3% compared to the previous day," it said.

The number of related hospitalizations grew in 30, decreased in 36, and remained the same in 19 constituent territories of Russia, it said.

Thirty-four patients with coronavirus have died over the past 24 hours. On Sunday, the headquarters reported 37 related deaths.

Compared to the previous day, when Russia saw 7,523 cases of Covid-19, the number of new infections has decreased by 952. At the same time, daily cases have continued to match the indicators of the end of April and early May, when Russia registered about 7,000 Covid-19 daily cases.

"As many as 4,234 people have recovered over the past 24 hours, or 12% fewer than on July 24," it said.

Russia has recorded a total of 18,538,826 cases of Covid-19, 382,189 related deaths, and 17,942,908 recoveries during the period of the pandemic.
