NBU expecting reserves to decline to $20.8 bln by end-2022, to remain unchanged in 2023

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) expects the country's international reserves to decline by 8.6% in H2 - from $22.8 to $20.8 billion, and remain at this level in 2023, Ukrainian media are reporting, citing a statement from the regulator.

Reserves will amount to $21.2 billion at the end of 2023, while in 2024 they will grow to $28.7 billion, the NBU said.

At the same time, there will be a current account surplus of $6.4 billion in 2022, compared to a deficit of $3.2 billion last year.

The NBU expects a current account deficit in 2023 and 2024, amounting to $3.9 billion and $8.8 billion, respectively.
