Russian oil output rose 3.4% in H1, oil product output 4.5% - energy minister

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Oil production in Russia rose 3.4% year-on-year in the first half of 2022, while oil product output rose 4.5%, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The energy sector has shown good results in H1 compared to the same period of last year in spite of the difficult economic conditions, Shulginov said.

"Oil production in six months exceeds the level of last year 3.4% and electricity production by 1.9%, and that means electricity consumption is higher by approximately that much. Coal output is approximately at the level of last year. Production of gasoline and diesel fuel is 4.5% higher than last year. Gas is currently down 5% for known reasons. The domestic market is stable, and consumers are being supplied with all types of energy resources. There are no problems with supplies of energy resources," Shulginov said.

"And the volumes of oil for export, they're also up?" Putin asked.

"Yes, they're up," Shulginov said.
