Some cos leaving Russia ready to enter Kyrgyz market but fear secondary sanctions - minister

BISHKEK. July 20 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan is open to cooperation with companies that have left Russia on the condition that this does not have repercussions in terms of sanctions, Kyrgyz Economy and Commerce Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev said.

"We are considering the possibility of cooperation with companies, but in such a way so that this does not have sanctions consequences," he said at a briefing on Wednesday.

A number of companies are prepared to enter the Kyrgyz market, including in the information technology sector, Amangeldiev said.

"Within the context of the Eurasian Economic Union work is being done on import substitution, more than 1,300 product groups have been approved in order to saturate the domestic market in connection with the imposition of sanctions. In addition, the threshold for duty-free imports of goods for personal use has been raised from 300 to 1,000 euros," he said.

"As regards secondary sanctions, countries are cautiously looking over their shoulders. Countries understand that we are in one union and we have the possibility of cooperation with other companies. We will monitor this very closely," Amangeldiev said.
