Lithuanian govt endorses allocation of 10 mln euros in aid for Ukraine

MOSCOW. July 12 (Interfax) - The Lithuanian government on Monday decided to allocate 10 million euros as financial assistance for Ukraine to do urgent reconstruction work, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the Lithuanian government web portal.

"This government aid is funds for critical infrastructure, basic needs and essential services," Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte said.

The funds allocated by the Lithuanian government will be transferred to the National Bank of Ukraine.

Simonyte had announced Lithuania's intention to provide such financial assistance at the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Lugano, Switzerland, on July 4-5.

Said financial assistance comes from funds borrowed on behalf of the Lithuanian state, which is provided for under the Finance Ministry's public finance management program for supporting development cooperation initiatives, it said.
