Almost 1.4 mln children born in Russia in 2021 - health minister

YOSHKAR-OLA. July 11 (Interfax) - Nearly 1.4 million children were born in Russia in 2021, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said on Monday.

In his words, infant mortality rates have decreased to a record low level.

"I should say that almost 1.4 million babies were born across the country in 2021. The infant mortality rates were one of the country's lowest in the recent period," Murashko told reporters while visiting a perinatal center in Mari El.
