Ukrzaliznytsia maintains May grain export level in June at 804,900 tonnes

MOSCOW. July 7 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia exported 804,900 tonnes of grain in June 2022, which is just slightly less than in May (807,000 tonnes), Valeriy Tkachov, deputy director of Ukrzaliznytsia's commercial department, said on social media during an online conference with industry representatives on Thursday.

Ukrainian media have reported that the railway company transported 639,900 tonnes of grain through land crossings on the Western borders and 165,000 tonnes to ports.

In June 2022, Ukrzaliznytsia loaded train cars with 1.23 million tonnes of grain, which is 14% of the overall loaded amount of grain (8.57 million tonnes).

Ukrzaliznytsia transported 1.36 million tonnes of grain in June, which is 10.5% more than was loaded in that period.

The average daily amount of grain loaded into train cars in June was 38,000 tonnes, Tkachov said. This indicator tends to decline on weekends to 26,000 tonnes and grow on workdays to 50,000-70,000 tonnes, he said.
