EFSD to provide guarantee for 70-mln-euro EBRD loan to Ukraine

MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) - The European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed an agreement on a European Fund for Sustainable Development (EFSD) guarantee for a EBRD loan to Ukraine in the amount of 70 million euros to finance Ukrainian companies providing critical services to the real sector of the Ukrainian economy, a joint press release said on Tuesday.

According to Ukrainian media outlets, the sum includes 50 million euros to support the liquidity of Ukrzaliznytsia and the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry, including the Pharmac company.

The loan is part of 1 billion euros the EBRD is investing in Ukraine in 2022 together with donors and partners.
