Russian Duma passes law to charge Gazprom additional gas tax in autumn months

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma has passed at third reading a law to charge Gazprom an additional 416 billion rubles in mineral extraction tax or MET.

The Finance Ministry said earlier that the move should raise 1.248 trillion rubles for the budget.

The government introduced the amendment in a bill, No. 136059-8.

"The amount of tax calculated by taxpayers who are during an entire tax period organizations and owners of Unified Gas Supply System infrastructure will, for the tax period September 1 to November 30, 2022 inclusive, increase by 416,000 rubles, expressed in millions of rubles, for the production of combustible natural gas at subsoil area, the license for the use of which is issued to such organizations in accordance with Russian legislation," the law states.
