Naftogaz plans to import 15,600 tonnes of gasoline, diesel fuel in July

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to import 15,600 tonnes of gasoline and diesel fuel in July, Ukrainian media reported with reference to Naftogaz CEO Yuriy Vitrenko.

"Naftogaz joined efforts to eliminate a shortage on the petroleum products market at the end of April. We have been increasing the volume of supplies for the third month, by 150% every month on average. We plan to deliver 15,600 tonnes of gasoline and diesel fuel to Ukraine in July," Vitrenko wrote on social media.

The company stands ready to conclude import contracts for dozens of times more, but logistical limitations prevent imports of petroleum products toward Ukrainian borders from major European ports having the necessary capacity, he said.

"Despite this, we see some positive trends. And if the rate at which imports of petroleum products are growing are kept, Naftogaz might become the leader on the market in a few months," he said.

Naftogaz imported 2,000 tonnes of diesel fuel in May and 5,600 tonnes in June, and it has concluded contracts for importing 11,600 tonnes of diesel fuel and 4,000 tonnes of gasoline in July.

As reported earlier, Ukraine planned to increase fuel imports by 60% to 600,000 tonnes in June compared to May 2022. Two-thirds of this amount would be diesel fuel and one-third gasoline and liquefied gas.
