Kazakhstan's Samruk-Kazyna plans to hold KazMunayGas IPO this year

NUR-SULTAN. June 28 (Interfax) - An initial public offering for Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunayGas is to be held in 2022 on the AIX and KASE platforms, Samruk-Kazyna CEO Almassadam Satkaliyev said on the sidelines of the 5th Astana Finance Days Conference on Tuesday.

The main objective of the IPO is to involve Kazakhstan's residents, Satkaliyev said.

Samruk-Kazyna will make a final decision regarding deadlines for IPOs for KazMunayGas and Air Astana this summer, given the current geopolitical factors.

KazMunayGas is the national operator for exploration, production, processing, and transportation of hydrocarbons. The company represents state interests in Kazakhstan's oil and gas sector. KazMunayGas is owned by Samruk-Kazyna National Wealth Fund with 90.42% and by the National Bank of Kazakhstan with 9.58%.
