Tatneft assets seized in Ukraine handed to state

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Assets of Russia's Tatneft oil company seized in Ukraine have been handed to the state, the the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) said.

The SBI said that on May 31, within the framework of a criminal investigation, decisions were received from the investigating judge about the seizure of assets, accounts and corporate rights belonging to the Tatneft group in Ukraine.

"As of today, 115 real estate assets have been seized: oil depots, filling stations, nonresidential buildings and land plots, as well as 118 fuel tankers and other automobiles. The corporate rights and real estate alone are worth UAH 400 million [$13.7 million at the current rate]," it said.

The assets have been transferred to the national Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA).

The SBI's prejudicial inquiry under Section 3 Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code is ongoing.

The SBI earlier estimated Tatneft assets worth $68 million had been seized.
