Grain from Crimea, other Russian regions, not from Ukraine, being delivered to Syria - Crimean deputy PM

ST. PETERSBURG. June 17 (Interfax) - Grain from Crimea and other Russian regions has been delivered to Syria under contracts signed last year, Georgy Muradov, Crimean deputy prime minister and the republic's permanent envoy to the Russian president, said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"Ukrainian grain is not being delivered to Syria. We have been delivering grain from Crimea and other regions of the Russian Federation to the country under existing contracts," Muradov said.

"Besides, these contracts were signed as far back as last year," he said.
