Russia sees under 2,800 new cases of Covid-19 (lowest since Apr 2020), 61 related deaths over past 24 hours - coronavirus response HQ

MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded under 2,800 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the lowest figure since April 2020, while over 700 people diagnosed with coronavirus have been hospitalized and 61 have died, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"As of June 14, Russia has identified 2,797 new cases of Covid-19. The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 708 people, having decreased by 2.2% compared to the previous day," it said.

The number of related hospitalizations grew in 35, decreased in 35, and remained the same in 15 constituent territories of Russia, it said.

Sixty-one patients with coronavirus have died over the past 24 hours. On Monday, the headquarters reported 56 related deaths.

Compared to the previous day, when Russia recorded 2,996 patients with coronavirus, the number of new cases has declined by 199. The number of daily cases has been under 3,000 for the second day in a row, and it has been the lowest since April 14, 2020, when nearly 2,800 new coronavirus cases were reported.

"As many as 3,324 people have recovered over the past 24 hours, or 9.8% fewer than on June 13," it said.

Russia has recorded a total of 18,382,344 cases of Covid-19, 380,137 related deaths, and 17,801,569 recoveries during the period of the pandemic.
