Serbia expects gas supplies from Azerbaijan to start after Sept 2023

BAKU. June 2 (Interfax) - Serbia expects gas supplies from Azerbaijan to begin after September 2023, which will enable the country to diversify its sources of imported gas, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Zoran Mihajlovic said.

Serbia currently depends completely on one supplier for its gas, Russia, but the Serbia-Bulgaria interconnector now under construction will enable the country to diversify its gas supplies, Mihajlovic said at the Baku Energy Forum on Thursday.

This is a very important project that is expected to be completed by September 2023, she said.

She said this is the reason for her meetings with Azerbaijan's leadership in Baku. Serbia expects to diversify gas imports with supplies of gas from Azerbaijan after September 2023, Mihajlovic said.
