MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has appointed Petro Kotin as president of the national nuclear power company Energoatom, in line with directive No. 430-r dated May 31, 2022.

The text of the document is available on the government web portal, Ukrainian media have reported.

Until lately, Kotin has served as Energoatom's acting president since April 2, 2020. He had previously served as CEO of Energoatom's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Energoatom operates the four Ukrainian nuclear power plants equipped with 15 pressurized water reactors with aggregate capacity of 13.835 GW.

The Ukrainian government decided at its session on May 31 to suspend tenders for selecting heads, chairpersons of executive bodies, and members of supervisory boards of state-run business entities while martial law remains in effect.
