NATO Strategic Concept should have place for Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders - Ukrainian Defense Minister Reznikov

MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - NATO's 2030 Strategic Concept should have a place for Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said.

"NATO's summit in Madrid will be very important, where its Strategic Concept for the period up to 2030 is to be adopted," Reznikov said on social media on Wednesday.

"This concept would be weak from the very start if there is no place in it for Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders [...] We will see the result at the end of the month. For the time being, we are continuing an intensive dialogue with our partners at the bilateral level," he said.

Ukrainian media said Reznikov also mentioned "a very substantive conversation" with United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Tuesday.

Reznikov said he had also communicated with Canadian National Defense Minister Anita Anand and Portuguese National Defense Minister Helena Carreiras.
