Ukraine withdraws from agreement commemorating heroism of CIS peoples in WWII

KYIV. May 23 (Interfax- Ukraine) - The Verkhovna Rada has voted for Ukraine's withdrawal from the agreement commemorating the courage and heroism of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) peoples in WWII.

The resolution passed by 274 votes at a plenary meeting on Sunday, a statement published on the Verkhovna Rada website said.

The agreement was signed in Dushanbe on September 9, 2011, and ratified by Ukraine with a reservation on April 18, 2013.
