Russia registers 4,158 new cases of Covid-19, 76 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 4,158 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 775 hospitalizations and 76 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"As of May 23, Russia recorded 4,158 new cases of Covid-19, while 775 patients were hospitalized, down 26.4% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 20 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 50, and has remained unchanged in 15, it said.

Another 76 patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, versus 80 the day before.

Daily morbidity has declined by 552 cases from 4,710 recorded on Sunday.

"Another 5,117 patients have recovered over the past day, down 12.0% from May 22," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,297,608 cases of Covid-19, including 378,426 deaths and 17,694,020 recoveries.
