No rational arguments against Ukraine's entry into integration with EU by receiving candidate country status - FM

KYIV. May 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) - There are no rational arguments against Ukraine entering the project of its integration with the European Union by receiving EU candidate country status, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

"The problem that has yet to be resolved is granting Ukraine EU candidate country status. We will discuss it as well. I have assured EU members that we are facing a unique political moment when public support in favor of Ukraine's further European integration is record high both in Ukraine and in EU member countries. We are not speaking of immediate membership, but we believe that there are no rational arguments against Ukraine's entry into the project of Ukraine's integration with Europe by granting it EU candidate country status," Kuleba told reporters after attending a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on Monday.

Kuleba said that he does not know any country that would openly oppose granting EU candidate country status to Ukraine.
