Belarus liberalizes foreigners' access to certain tourist attractions - State Border Committee

MINSK. May 16 (Interfax) - Foreigners headed to certain tourist attractions in Belarus will need nothing but passports to cross the border; there will be no need for special passes or additional documents, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Monday.

"As proposed by border authorities, the Vitebsk, Brest and Gomel regional executive committees have approved routes for foreigners visiting tourist attractions in the border zone without a special pass," the committee said.

Foreigners will need nothing but passports to reach tourist attractions by the designated routes, it said.

"It is allowed to reach tourist attractions by the shortest route, using public roads, railways, and water routes," the committee said.

It will be allowed to use motorway services during transit through the border zone, it said.
