Ukraine expanding opportunities for exports, continuing integration into European projects - PM Shmyhal

KYIV. May 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine is expanding export opportunities and redoubling efforts to integrate into European projects, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

"Not only are we considerably expanding opportunities for our exports, but we are also continuing our integration into European projects as much as possible. This is extremely important on the path toward our full EU membership," Shmyhal said at a government meeting last Friday.

On May 12, the European Commission announced opening Solidarity Lanes to streamline exports and customs formalities between Ukraine and the EU, he said.

"To accelerate logistics, the European Commission will also set up a special platform to facilitate border crossing through Solidarity Lanes and will recommend that EU market players provide more trucks and other transport assets," he said.

The European Commission has also decided to conclude an agreement with Ukraine and update the Trans-European Transport Network, Shmyhal said.
