Russia registers 4,896 new cases of Covid-19, 105 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 4,896 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 2,506 hospitalizations and 105 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"As of May 13, Russia recorded 4,896 new cases of Covid-19, and 2,506 patients were hospitalized, down 25.3% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 20 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 58, and has remained unchanged in seven, it said.

Another 105 patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, versus 111 reported on Thursday.

The number of new Covid-19 cases grew by 831 from 4,065 cases reported on Thursday after a long period of decline. The number of daily infections remains at the same level as in late April 2020.

"Another 7,257 patients recovered over the past day, up 4.7% from May 12," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has registered 18,250,290 cases of Covid-19, including 377,464 deaths and 17,633,601 recoveries.
