Rosaviatsiya extends temporary ban on flights to 11 Russian airports until May 19

MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has extended the temporary closure of 11 airports in central and southern Russia for the 13th time, this time until May 19.

"The temporary restrictions on flights to 11 Russian airports have been extended until 3:45 a.m. Moscow time on May 19, 2022. Flights are suspended to the airports of Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista," the agency said.

Airlines are still advised to use the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Moscow to transport passengers to these cities.

The rest of Russian airports, including the international ones, are operating as usual.

The Federal Air Transport Agency restricted domestic flights on February 24, the day the Russian special military operation in Ukraine began.
