Kazakh Trade and Integration Ministry denies plans to withdraw from EAEU
NUR-SULTAN. May 11 (Interfax) - Claims of Kazakhstan's plans to withdraw from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which have been made on social media, are untrue, the Kazakh Trade and Integration Ministry told Interfax on Wednesday.
"No such negotiations are being conducted, and the information about Kazakhstan's plans is untrue," the ministry said.
There was a report earlier on Telegram that Kazakhstan was planning to leave the EAEU Customs Union. The report's author said, citing personal sources, that the plans derived from "unsettled disagreements between Kazakhstan and Russia."
The EAEU comprises Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.
