UN secretary-general to visit Moldova on May 9-10 - local media

CHISINAU. May 6 (Interfax) - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will pay an official visit to Moldova on May 9-10, the Infotag news agency said with the reference to the press secretary of the United Nations resident coordinator in Moldova, Cristina David.

It said that Guterres would arrive in Chisinau on May 9 and would meet with Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita on the first day of the visit.

Guterres will visit a Ukrainian refugee center on the Moldexpo grounds on May 10.

This is a visit of solidarity with Moldova, which demonstrates the wish to help it deal with the Ukrainian refugee crisis, the press secretary said.
