Russia registers 5,541 new cases of Covid-19, 136 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 5,541 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 2,845 hospitalizations and 136 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said on Friday.

"As of May 6, Russia recorded 5,541 new cases of Covid-19, and 2,845 patients were hospitalized, down 12.4% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 32 constituent territories, has decreased in 46, and has remained unchanged in seven, it said.

Another 136 patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, versus 139 the day before.

Daily morbidity has grown by 530 cases from 5,011 infections reported on Thursday.

"Meanwhile, 9,408 patients have recovered, up 7.9% from May 5," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,216,719 cases of Covid-19, including 376,696 deaths and 17,588,067 recoveries.
