Almost equal number of persons crosses Ukrainian western border both ways on May 2 - State Border Guard Service of Ukraine

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The number of persons leaving Ukraine through the western border dripped from nearly 34,000 on May 1 to 30,000 on May 2, including a decline in the number of Ukrainian travelers from 32,000 to 27,000, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said on social media on Tuesday.

The arrivals have also decreased, although inconsiderably, from 30,000 to over 29,000, the service said.

The number of humanitarian cargo trucks crossing the Ukrainian border grew from 230 to 270 day on day, it said.

According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, 5.597 million people left Ukraine between February 24 and 1 p.m. on May 1, including 3.075 million for Poland, 899,240 for Romania and Moldova, 681,160 for Russia (as of April 30), 534,820 for Hungary, 382,020 for Slovakia, and 25,000 for Belarus (as of April 28).

Meanwhile, 1.385 million people entered Ukraine between February 28 and May 1, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said.
