Russia registers 7,710 new cases of Covid-19, 161 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 7,710 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 2,558 hospitalizations and 161 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"As of April 29, Russia recorded 7,710 new cases of Covid-19, while 2,558 patients were hospitalized, down 1.5% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 41 constituent territories, has decreased in 39, and has remained unchanged in five, it said.

Another 161 patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, as against 166 the day before.

There was an uptick in the daily morbidity, from 7,681 cases reported on Thursday.

"Another 11,041 patients have recovered over the past day, down 0.2% from April 28," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,174,991 cases of Covid-19, including 375,727 deaths and 17,529,033 recoveries.
