Website of French RFI radio inaccessible in Russia

MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - The website of Radio France Internationale (RFI) became inaccessible in Russia after Russia's telecoms watchdog Roskomnadzor blocked one of its pages on the Russian Prosecutor General's Office's demand.

According to Roskomnadzor's universal service that checks the blocking of pages and websites, user access to one of the pages of the rfi.fr website is blocked in Russia at the demand of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office of April 12.

Because the website uses the https protocol, the blocking of one page makes the whole website inaccessible to users.

The Moscow Times reported earlier on Friday that the website of its Russian service had been blocked by Roskomnadzor at the Russian Prosecutor General's Office's demand, also of April 12. The editorial board did not receive any notices from the agency. The website was blocked over one article dealing with the events taking place on the territory of Ukraine.

According to the organization Roskomsvoboda, which uploads data from the register of information prohibited in Russia, media outlets from Latvia, Georgia and Ukraine, more than 15 media outlets all in all, have also been blocked on the said demand of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.
