Czech Republic decides not to buy fuel from Russia for Temelin NPP as of 2024

BERLIN. April 14 (Interfax) - Czech energy company CEZ Group has decided not to buy fuel from Russia for the Temelin nuclear power plant as of 2024, the Spanish EFE news agency reported on Thursday.

EFE quoted a CEZ Group representative as saying that "in order to diversify and minimize the risk of interruptions in supplies," there are plans to purchase fuel for the NPP from U.S.-based Westinghouse and France's Framatome.

EFE noted that CEZ Group's decision does not apply to the other Czech NPP, Dukovany, which will continue to receive fuel from Russia.
