Netherland's Topigs Norsvin to continue operations in Russia

MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - Netherlands-based Topigs Norsvin, an innovative swine genetics company, plans to continue operating in Russia and to fulfill all of its commitments to supplying livestock, according to a letter to partners from Topigs CIS LLC, a subsidiary of Topigs Norsvin International B.V., a copy of which Interfax has reviewed.

"Topigs CIS LLC is continuing to operate in Russia as usual and is adjusting to the changing conditions on the market and in the world. All commitments to supplying livestock are being and will be completely fulfilled. Our specialists have worked out measures to support the high genetic level of produced livestock and the minimal lag behind the central units of Europe and Canada," according to the letter.

The company said that it "remains a reliable partner and is confident that it will be able to choose its own unique collaborating option for each client in Russia."

"We are continuing operations in the Russian Federation, while remaining within the legal framework of the European Union, meaning that we are carefully monitoring and complying with all of the sanctions," Topigs CIS General Director Alexander Ievlev told Interfax.

Topigs Norsvin collaborates with leading swine-breeding companies in Russia by supplying genetic material. Topigs Norsvin International B.V. operates in more than 50 countries worldwide.
