Int'l partners to help restore Internet in Ukraine

KYIV. April 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) - International partners will help Ukrainian operators buy the necessary equipment for renewing communications in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian communication operators' network was damaged as a result of the recent events, which left people in many populated areas without Internet access, Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation said on Telegram on Wednesday.

"International partners will help operators buy the necessary equipment for renewing communications in Ukraine. The first equipment will start arriving in Ukraine in the middle of April. It's a fully voluntary initiative of volunteers, who are making every effort to maintain Ukrainians' access to important information," the Ministry of Digital Transformation said.

The project is being implemented by the Global NOG Alliance initiative in collaboration and with support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, industry associations of the Association of Right Holders and Content Providers, the Ukrainian Internet Association, and the company DEPS.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation said Ukrainian partners continue providing services in the regions where it is possible daily and are providing Ukrainians with Internet access again.
