BISHKEK. March 30 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing relations with Russia in the field of security, Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Talant Mamytov said at a meeting with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko.

"Kyrgyzstan is interested in further active development of historical relations with the Russian Federation in all areas, including culture, humanitarian affairs, education, trade, economic contacts and interaction in security matters," the Kyrgyz parliament press service quoted Mamytov as saying on Wednesday.

The meeting took place in Almaty on Tuesday on the sidelines of a session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Council, the press service said.

The sides discussed the status and development of bilateral political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations and exchanged views on the broadening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the press service said.

Mamytov said that Kyrgyzstan hailed Russia's decision to lift restrictions on regular flights to and from Kyrgyzstan and proposed considering a lift of the restrictions on the arrival of Kyrgyz citizens in Russia by car and by rail.

He also proposed that a possibility of another "amnesty" of Kyrgyz migrants in Russia be considered in 2022.

For her part, Matviyenko said that Russia was interested in strengthening relations with Kyrgyzstan in all areas.

Budget-funded education of Kyrgyz students in Russian higher educational establishments and the exclusion of Kyrgyz labor migrants from the so-called "blacklist" have been submitted for the Russian government's consideration, Matviyenko said.
