Japanese sanctions won't affect timeframe of building Russian spacecraft - Rogozin
MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - Japan's sanctions on Russian Space Systems (RSS) will not affect the time it takes Russia to build spacecraft, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said.
"Japan has imposed sanctions on Russian Space Systems (RSS), a space instrument building corporation and part of the Roscosmos state corporation. The goal is to limit its capability of implementing the state defense order and state contracts in the interests of our satellite construction firms," Rogozin wrote on Roscosmos's official Telegram channel.
"The sanctions have been long anticipated and are not unexpected. They will be countered by an import substitution program that is being pursued and will not affect the time it takes to build spacecraft," Rogozin said.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry on Thursday published an extended Russia sanctions list by adding 25 individuals and 81 corporate entities to it.
