Israel should be among guarantors of int'l treaty guaranteeing security to Ukraine - chief of Zelensky's office

KYIV. March 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) - It is important for Kyiv to see Israel among the guarantors of an international treaty providing security guarantees to Ukraine, chief of the Ukrainian presidential office Andriy Yermak said.

"Indeed, Israel could become among the guarantors of an international treaty concerning security guarantees, as it should understand us better than anybody else. Such a treaty envisions an extensive list of potential guarantor countries. Therefore, we're conducting separate consultations with each country so as to meet together later," Yermak wrote on Telegram on Thursday.

Ukraine also expects Israel's mediating mission to be productive, he said.

"Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is determined to do all he can to bring peace. However, it is important to understand that Ukraine will never agree to compromises related to its independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty. And Israeli Prime Minister Bennett knows this," Yermak said.

Ukraine also expects the Israeli government to review its recent decision amending the entry rules for Ukrainians and introducing electronic permits, which was taken negatively in Ukraine, Yermak said.
