Total of 8,057 people evacuated via humanitarian corridors on March 21 - deputy head of Zelensky's office

KYIV. March 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) - As many as 8,057 civilians were evacuated through humanitarian corridors on March 22, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said.

"A total of 8,057 people were evacuated via these humanitarian corridors. Of them, 3,007 people from Mariupol reached Zaporizhzhya," Tymoshenko said on Telegram on Monday evening.

As many as 4,750 people were evacuated in the Kyiv region, and in the Luhansk region 300 people were evacuated to Bakhmut from Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk and Hirne.

More than 200 tonnes of humanitarian aid were delivered to these populated localities.

Twenty-six buses with evacuated civilians arrived in Berdyansk. Headquarters are continuing to operate in Berdyansk, where all people arriving from Mariupol are being provided with all necessary assistance.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk, in turn, said at a press briefing on Monday evening that "out of the eight approved humanitarian corridors, seven functioned."
