All drug manufacturers keep working in Russian market - Minister Murashko

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - The Russian drug market is now stable, and all manufacturers are continuing their operations, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said.

"The drug market situation is now stable, and all manufacturers are continuing to work in the Russian market," the Health Ministry press service quoted Murashko as saying in a teleconference with regions on Thursday.

According to Murashko, the volume of production and supply of drugs and pharmaceutical substances, including those imported, has considerably grown in Russia year-on-year.

"The volume of production and supply of drugs and pharmaceutical substances, including those imported, is much bigger this year that it was last year," he said.

More than 433.6 million packs of drugs were supplied to stores between February 22 and March 16, 2022, up 19% from the relevant period of 2021, he said.

Meanwhile, the amount of deployed pharmaceutical substances, which serve as the primary raw material for drug production, grew more than 70% year-on-year to 18,200 tonnes between February 22 and March 16, he said.
