Qatar to make efforts to find peaceful solution to Ukraine situation - Qatari FM

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Qatar stands ready to apply all possible efforts to find diplomatic ways to resolve the situation surrounding Ukraine, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said.

"During negotiations today, I expect to discuss the events ongoing in Ukraine, and we hope peaceful solutions to this conflict will be found in the near future," Al-Thani said in opening negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday.

"Qatar intends to apply all possible efforts to explore diplomatic options and find a peaceful solution to the events ongoing in Ukraine as soon as possible," he said.

Lavrov said he would be "happy to speak in detail about efforts being undertaken by the Russian Federation to resolve all issues that have arisen and piled up in that country over the past years."
