Yerevan asks OSCE Minsk Group to organize talks with Baku to sign peace treaty - Armenian Foreign Ministry

YEREVAN. March 14 (Interfax) - Yerevan has appealed to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group for settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to organize negotiations with Baku to sign a peace treaty, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

"Armenia has replied to proposals from Azerbaijan. In line with the UN Charter, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the Helsinki Final Act, Armenia has appealed to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship to organize negotiations aimed at signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan," it said.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said on March 12 that Baku made a new offer on normalizing relations to Yerevan and that Azerbaijan viewed the establishment of durable peace in the region as the ultimate goal of this process.
