Several hundred Ukrainians cross into Belarus since Feb 24

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Over 600 Ukrainian citizens have arrived in Belarus since February 24, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Friday.

"Over the period from February 24 to March 11, a total of 1,760 persons crossed the Belarusian border from the Ukrainian territory, including 902 citizens of Belarus, 619 of Ukraine, and 239 of other countries," the committee said.

In the past 24 hours, 101 persons arrived in Belarus from Ukraine. "The Ukrainian citizens are temporarily accommodated at hotels and health resorts in the Gomel region," it said.

Belarusian border checkpoints are operating normally. For its part, Ukraine has suspended the operation of checkpoints on the border with Belarus.
