System of security guarantees should safeguard Ukraine for centuries - presidential office chief

KYIV. March 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) - A system of security guarantees for Ukraine will be worked out based on the best international practices, chief of the Ukrainian presidential office Andrei Yermak said.

"The best of the existing models will be chosen to fully guarantee our security. Believe me, despite the tough situation, the best specialists at the presidential office and beyond the presidential office are working. We'll adopt the best international practices, and nobody will do anything in haste," Yermak said in an interview with the Ukrainska Pravda online media outlet.

This should be "a fundamental document, which we are composing together with our partners," Yermak said. "We understand that, if it appears, it will be not for decades. It should safeguard Ukraine for centuries," he said.

Asked whether there is any progress in Ukraine's accelerated accession to the European Union, Yermak said, "We're doing everything possible for this. And I believe in this."
