Russian special operation prevents Ukraine's attack on Donbas, Russia - Rostec head

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Rostec head Sergei Chemezov has described the operation in Ukraine as a forced measure, as Ukraine was planning an attack on Donbas and Russia.

"We live in a difficult time, but what's happened is a forced measure we had to undertake," Chemezov said at a meeting with the Rostec personnel. A video of the meeting is obtained by Interfax.

"If we had not done it, the hostilities would be taking place in our territory and both troops and the civilian population, our fellow citizens, would have been killed," he said.

"The military operation has allowed us, above all, to destroy the trained military units, the weapons and the weapon depots prepared for the attack, which would have definitely started with the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and, naturally, would have targeted Russia afterwards," Chemezov said.
