Syrian air defense intercepts 7 of 8 cruise missiles fired by Israeli Air Force - Russian military

MOSCOW. March 8 (Interfax) - Israeli warplanes delivered an airstrike upon targets in Syrian territory on March 7, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Rear Adm. Oleg Zhuravlyov said at a press briefing.

"Four F-16 tactical fighter aircraft of the Israeli Air Force delivered an airstrike upon Syrian territory with eight cruise missiles from Lebanon's airspace at 6:05 a.m. on March 7," Zhuravlyov said.

"Syrian air defense forces on duty successfully destroyed seven missiles," he said.

Two civilians were killed as one Israeli missile hit a residential house within the area of the town of Qutayfah in the Damascus governorate, he said.
