Russian, Belarusian foreign ministers discuss special military operation in Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei spoke by telephone on Saturday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The foreign ministers discussed pressing issues related to Russian-Belarusian coordination on international stage and the real state of affairs and the process of realization of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine," the ministry's website stated.

"Special gratitude was expressed to Belarus for providing the venue and creating comfortable conditions for the Russia-Ukraine talks. The two ministers agreed on next steps by their countries' delegations to international organizations," the statement said.

"Lavrov congratulated his counterpart on the successful constitutional referendum held in Belarus," it said.
