Russian Defense Ministry gives number of foreigners currently in Ukraine's Kharkiv and Sumy

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - There are currently more than 7,500 foreign citizens in Ukrainian cities, but they cannot leave them because of the activities of Ukrainian nationalist formations, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"As for foreigners who are being held as hostages in different localities of Ukraine, there are more than 7,500 of them today: 3,189 citizens of India, 2,700 citizens of Vietnam, 200 citizens of Jordan, and 30 citizens of Egypt in Kharkiv, 576 citizens of India, 121 citizens of China, 100 citizens of Ghana, 60 citizens of Egypt, and 45 citizens of Jordan in Sumy," head of Russia's National Defense Control Center Maj. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev said.
