Ukrainian authorities are not letting male citizens of Russia, Belarus leave - Belarusian rep to UN

MINSK. March 4 (Interfax) - Citizens of Belarus and Russia have been having problems with returning home from Ukraine, so Belarus is asking Ukraine not to hinder such departures.

"Citizens of Belarus and Russia, in particular, all men older than 18 have been having huge problems leaving Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities do not allow them to leave. In fact, both Russians and Belarusians are being held hostage," the ONT television channel quoted Belarusian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Valentin Rybakov as saying.

"Minsk is receiving numerous calls from citizens of Belarus and embassies of the countries whose citizens are wishing to leave for Belarus and return home," Rybakov said.
